V103 Sunday morning April 22nd 2012 rounding out the Celebrity Weekend with Author & New Bern resident Nicholas Sparks pictured with Bobby Lane and running legend Billy Mills, only American to ever win an Olympic Gold Medal in the 10,000 meter run (1964 Tokyo Games)…an honor to know Nicholas and to be able to hear running stories from the US Nat’l Track & Field / US Olympic Hall of Fame member…both were at the 5k run I did this morning from New Bern High Track

Below...Saturday, March 16th 2013, my (then) 9 yr old son Matt finished his 1st ever 5k race in Mt. Holly NC (outside of Charlotte) in 36:00 on a tough hilly course and humid morning..best of all he got to brag to his friends who also ran, that his Pop WON THE RACE! One of the coolest days ever! Couldn't be prouder of you son!

Bobby pictured below at the Run The Yellow Brick Road Races with 2013 Boston Marathon finishers Lucien Vaughn & Danielle Ouano. Lucien finished the BM a mere 12 minutes BEFORE the explosions at the finish line and felt the blast while Danielle was diverted off the course from finishing after the bombing.

V103.3 was at the 3rd Annual Cupid's Crawl races Saturday, February 9th 2013 > VIEW ALBUM < New this year was a 10k (6.2 mi) race added to the 5k. I managed 6th overall in 39:44 (6:24 mile pace) and was very pleased, tough course that started uphill on Elm St before hanging a right on 14th, and continuing through the neighborhoods between 10th & 14th before heading back down to Elm St Park for the finish...Thanks to everyone who participated and special congrats to the "Couples Awards" winners...Click here for full results

Great turnout again for 3rd annual Darleen's Flamingo 5k run, Smithton Waterfront in Belhaven NC in honor of Darleen Smith & benefitting the Shepard Cancer Foundation in Washington NC, Saturday Nov 3rd 2012, V103.3 playing music and hosting awards, plus managing a 2nd place finish in 19:53!

V103.3 cranked tunes from the 80s 90s and Now on Saturday September 22nd behind the Greenville Hilton for the Run for Literacy 5k (3.1 miler thru the Westhaven neighborhoods)...see our photo gallery for more...I managed 6th overall & snagged a medal for 2nd 40-49 with a time of 19:57...6:26 per mile pace.

V103.3 played tunes and Bobby Lane then raced on Saturday June 30th from Greenville's Town Common (Bobby above pic after the race)...the annual Flat Out 5k benefited the NC Jaycee Burn Center as well as the Boys & Girls Club in Pitt County...managed a 13th place finish/199 finishers this year and 3rd 40-49 in 19:48...2011 pic of start below...I'm the shirtless dude to the RIGHT of the guy with the blue shirt whose head is seen between the Do Not Enter signs...
