Fisherman Reels in Biggest Hammerhead Shark in Texas History
During a fishing tournament in Texas over the weekend, Tim Mcclellen reeled in a 1,033-pound hammerhead shark. Not only did Mcclellen win the tournament with his prize catch, he also smashed a 37-year-old state record for the biggest hammerhead ever caught. (The previous record of an 871-pound shark was set in 1980 by Mark Johnson.) “It’s the monster I’ve been looking for for 20 years,” McClellen told KHOU. "You start watching the scale going up, and when we saw 400 and only the tail was up, we knew it was a lot more."
