It's important to cook your food right when you buy it so that you do not have to worry about whether it is safe to eat. Nowadays, more people are planning their meals out by week. Make sure if you are meal prepping that you cook the food before you put it away. Check out the list below to see how long you can wait to cook raw meats before it is unsafe. According to a video from Business Insider, "Cook or freeze the following foods after the sell-by date or after purchase (if there's no sell-by date)."
Uncooked poultry: 1-2 days
Uncooked beef/veal/pork/lamb: 3-5 days
Canned meat and poultry: 3-4 days
Bacon and hot dogs: 7 days after opening
Eggs: 3-5 weeks
